We are uniquely equipped to supply the world with raw input as well as final active materials, i.e., cathode and anode materials. Furthermore, we will continue to expand the scope of our activities by harnessing the synergies generated across our Group businesses.

Cathode and anode materials constitute parts that make up a rechargeable battery. A battery is charged when lithium ions move from cathode to anode, and is discharged as energy when the ions move back from anode to cathode.
POSCO Future M operates eight plants around the world dedicated to producing cathode/anode materials. It is uniquely positioned in Korea as the only supplier of anode materials.

We operate a total of five cathode material plants globally.
Gwangyang Cathode Material Plant
- Annual capacity : 90K tons
- (An additional 52.5K tons/year plant to be completed by 2025)

Our global production volume will expand and we will acquire leading technology to grow into a global top supplier of rechargeable battery materials.
Cathode Material Product Upgrade and Silicon Anode Material Business Launch
We will upgrade our cathode material products to high nickel NCM, NCA and enter new markets such as LFP, high manganese and high voltage mid-nickel markets. We will provide artificial graphite, an ingredient used for anode materials, to the wider global market, and make a committed launch into our silicon anode materials business.
