Our enterprise was founded as a steelmaking business that extended into other sectors, serving as the backbone of economic and social development in Korea. Recently, we have ventured into rechargeable battery materials, helping to place a renewed global identity of POSCO Group.

We are committed to gaining more ground as a formidable producer of future materials, thereby continuing our legacy as a trusted company that helps to advance national interests. This ambitious spirit is embodied in our new vision – ‘Materials for Tomorrow, Innovation for Excellence’

Three strategies have been defined to help us achieve the vision objectives:

First, we will gain a commanding lead in future technology-based businesses. In steelmaking, we intend to restore our predominance, a position followed at a great distance by competition. In rechargeable battery materials, our native skills will be leveraged with innovations to enlarge the gap with our rivals. Accountability will be codified in the governance system of the Group’s operating companies, which will explore diverse means to identify business opportunities.

Secondly, we will establish a dynamic organizational culture that seeks to grow together with all employees. Creative endeavors will be encouraged; those who dare to take up challenges will be offered the latitude to perform by balancing autonomy and responsibility. This is how we will create a place of work that promises fulfillment through achievement.

Third, we have more work to do to build a reliable ESG management system. Through innovation, we will establish a governance scheme that the community can understand and confide in. We will stay ahead of the social curve on safety and GHG emissions. We will work earnestly with local communities to make good on these promises.

Extraordinary determination is required to explore new paths during these transformative times. In my new role, I pledge to do my best to open a new chapter in the story of POSCO Group.
